About Interactivechris

Hi again! My name is Chris Rotsteeg, I am 30 and I like to create. It started as a young boy designing and drawing complictated doodles on the walls, and I never got rid of that drive. I moved in to digital media the end of the nineties, and decided that studying at the Willem de Kooning Academy of Arts in Rotterdam was the right thing to do. Which it was, because in 2006 I became a UI / UX designer.

After graduating from my course, I started off going freelance while looking for a permanent job. This resulted in Interactivechris.com begin 2007, and since then I have been making logo’s, websites, banners, landingpages, games and art for a living. I developed myself in a more corporate way at RD Media in Amsterdam, where I set up the interactive department and stayed for 4 years as senior interactive designer and team manager of the creative department.

Since the spring of 2011, I am a UX/UI designer for Releaze where I create super sweet applications for iOS and Android. We create interactive mobile solutions for banks, newspapers, TV stations, financial institutions, supermarkets, retail and so on. Working in this high level company gives me the ability to define the future of mobile app development.

When I’m not like a victim of life on the screen, I get inspired by contemporary art and nature. I still like to draw and paint, and occasionally I participate in a exhibition with canvas prints and packaging tape installations. I even have found some spare time left to read, like Lev Manovich, William Gibson and comic books. I have a thing for electronical music, which ended up in a analogue studio and a killer collection of obscure disco, wave and house records.
